One of our alumni, Rich Friedman, sent news of a series of research briefs emanating from the MacArthur foundation’s Research Network on Adolescent Development and Juvenile Justice, http://www.adjj.org/content/page.php?cat_id=2&content_id=28
Given the paucity of research on effective services for juveniles, the materials do point, at least, to some intervention points and possibilities. I’ve posted one of the issue briefs that discusses authoratative parenting style and it’s possible role in limiting pathways to juvenile offending and increasing desistance.
