Although involved with this for several years, I had almost forgotten what a great resource this website is for providing sensible and useful information about key topics in child welfare services. The CEBC has developed an exemplary process by which providers of a range of evidence based services are asked to submit evidence about the effectiveness of their programs, they are reviewed by experts, clarifications are sent back to the developers, and final ratings are given for (1) scientific quality and (2) relevance to child welfare [necessary because some interventions have positive findings from rigorous research but the participants in the study were not primarily a child welfare population]. Here’s the url

http://www.cachildwelfareclearinghouse.org/ The CEBC also has the most clearly defined criteria for evaluating interventions.  Another plus is that there website has a section on the “importance of evidence-based practice” that includes perspectives from program managers, supervisors, line staff, trainers, and academics [yes, it should include voices of consumers, too, but it's a good start].

The website is organized by topical areas (there are 8 of thse so far) and programs (49 of these have been reviewed) and maltreatment types and many other useful ways to think of evidence-based practice.  In the relatively near future, they will be adding new topics (e.g., case management, placement stabilization, higher levels of placement, and home visitation) and a renewed emphasis on implementation.

I suggest that you check it out.
